Free awareness courses and MPI-approved Accredited Person training — find the right course for your role and your business.
New Zealand's biosecurity system depends on people who understand their role within it. Whether you work at a Transitional Facility, manage a business that imports goods, or need formal AP accreditation — there is a course designed for you.
The courses below are the recognised training pathways for New Zealand biosecurity. Two are free; one is the paid MPI-approved pathway to Accredited Person status.
An introduction to New Zealand's biosecurity system — what it is, why it matters to New Zealand's economy and environment, and what your role is as someone operating in the supply chain. Suitable for staff across logistics, warehousing, freight, and business generally.
Designed specifically for staff working at MPI Approved Transitional Facilities. Covers health and safety obligations, safe working procedures when handling imported goods under MPI oversight, and your responsibilities as a TF operator or worker.
The MPI-approved training course required as part of the Accredited Person accreditation process for individuals responsible for inspecting and overseeing the unpacking of imported sea containers at Transitional Facilities. Delivered 100% online — no travel, no venue costs.
Also available: AP Refresher Course ($125 +GST, required every 2 years) and a Free TF Awareness Course for supporting staff.
